Working with GE Johnson on Pike’s Peak summit house was a banner project for Iron Mountain Demolition. Iron Mountain was responsible for demolishing the old summit house at the top of Pike’s Peak at 14,115 feet above sea level. This was Iron Mountain’s first Living Building Challenge project, which is the world’s most rigorous proven performance standard for building construction. The goal of the project is to divert 90%-99% of material waste from the landfill.
Scope included selective demolition of all finishes of the interior of a 100,000 SF building. Other work included RTU removal, and total demolition of an outbuilding.
Demolition of a cooling tower at Evans Army Hospital on Ft. Carson. Scope included selectively removing concrete structure with saw cutting, crane picks of concrete and removal of mechanical equipment.
Downtown redevelopment project that included total demolition of 2 buildings and site work to facilitate a new 300+ unit apartment building.
Downtown redevelopment project that included total demolition of the entire city block between Moreno Ave and Rio Grande, just to the south of the new Switchbacks stadium. Demo of multiple buildings and site demo to create space for a new residential and retail space.
Scope included complete gut of locker rooms including saw cutting and concrete demolition of slab.
Working for Bryan Construction on the total Demolition of a 115,000 SF existing Middle School.
Remodel of the 5th floor of Children’s Hospital in Briargate. Selective interior demolition on an occupied hospital floor.
Scope included removal of a CMU vapor room with solid concrete walls and cast in place elevated concrete. Removal techniques included the use of a demo robot to remove elevated concrete due to the close proximity of the joists in the roof.
Total demolition of a 90,000 SF shopping center in Fountain, CO.
After vandals burned a new construction project, Iron Mountain demolished the damaged building down to the foundation, saving the GC time and money as they re-built the building from the existing foundation.
Total demolition of a Natural Grocers and site work including excavation, backfill and pad prep for new building being constructed on site.
Site work including excavation, backfill, rough and fine grading for the Ambulatory Surgery expansion of the USAFA clinic.
Working with the City of Colorado Springs to demolish several residential houses that had catastrophic damage from landslides in the Broadmoor Bluffs area. One house required open air abatement which we collaborated on with a local abatement company.
Selective demolition of Challenger Middle School to accommodate remodel in 2019.
Total demolition of a complex of residential houses for the City of Pueblo.
Total demolition of 25,000 SF 2 story former hotel/dorm to make space for the new hockey arena.
Building separation and partial total demolition of a Hospital wing in Trinidad, CO.
Site and utility work for new working dog kennels on Peterson Air Force base. Included excavation, backfill, and finish grading for new buildings.
Site demo and dirt work for the addition of elevators at Falcon Stadium on the USAFA. Scope included landscaping removal, excavation for new drilled piers and backfill and compaction with grading for finished surfaces.
Total demolition of 2 three story buildings on Ft Carson.
Demolition of Football locker room for remodel at Falcon Stadium on the USAFA, scope included concrete demo, saw cutting, core drilling.
Total demolition of large free-span aircraft hanger at Butts Airfield on Ft Carson.
Total demolition of a 100K SF multistory cast in place/steel structure in Durango.
Selective structural demolition of Great Wolf Lodge including critical crane picks to remove sections of building.
Selective demolition of a parking garage structure to allow for expansion. Scope included saw cutting, crane picks for removal of material.
After both Waldo Canyon and Black Forest fires, Iron Mountain demolished hundreds of houses that were burned by the fires.
